Khimsar Fort

One of the main attractions of Khimsar is the Khimsar Fort. The fort is especially famous for its architecture which offers an array of variety. The construction of this fort began in 1523 AD. And over the years, some more annexes were built. Beautiful courtyards, gardens and colors is what this fort is all about.


This town is located between Jodhpur and Bikaner, near Khimsar. This place is famous for Ahichhatragarh Fort. This fort was a gift from the Mughals to the then ruler of Jodhpur. The beautifully crafted walls and the murals add a different kind of glamor to it. The whole experience will make you awestruck.

The Nagaur Cattle Fair is yet another attraction. This fair takes place in the month of January every year. Apart from cattle trading, you can enjoy watching other activities like camel races, bullock races, cock-fight and tug-of-war.

Camel safaris

Khimsar is a sand dune village and so camel safaris makes it a big and an obvious activity to go for. Along with it, you will be able to witness and enjoy the folk culture that comes through the music and dance forms of Rajasthan.

Black buck safari

Go for the Panchla Black Buck Safari which is just about 16 km away. The stunning Blue Bull Antelope (Nilgai), Black Buck and Chinkara will make a normal sight during your safari.

Interested in birdwatching, you can travel more for about 120 km to Kheenchan to see the elegant Demoiselle Cranes that migrate all over from Southern Europe as well as certain parts of North Asia. October to March would be the ideal time to come here.
